Packing Essentials for the OCD Planner

With 2 impeding trip to Disney World in the near future I thought that it was probably time to start working on my packing list.

As my of my friends can vouch, I’m one of those people that you love to hate when it  comes to traveling.  I like to have days structured; planned out and restaurant reservations booked far in advance. I hate missing out on opportunities and even more so forgetting something at home. I mean sure you can always pick up things like socks, undies or shampoo at the gift shop but at about a 200% mark up which takes away from your spending money. But what about when you forget that oh so essential phone charger? You’re kind hooped, no? So for this reason I’ve come up with my own OCD Packing List so I never forget anything. This is geared towards a trip to Disney with kidlet (since I’m going with some on the second trip), but can easily be adapted.

If you think I missed anything let me know.

  • Sweater
  • Socks
  • Undies
  • Bra
  • Sundress

  • Costumes for the Kidlets – princess dresses are min 60$ to purchase at the parks – try to stock up after Halloween when they’re on sale or when your local Disney Store is having a sale
  • Dress Shoes to go with Fancy Outfit *optional*
  • Comfortable Walking Shoes – really important you don’t want to get Disney Feet. Never wear shoes that are not worn in unless you want blisters on top of it
  • Rain Coat/Poncho/Umbrella
  • Hat
  • Jewelry
  • Sunglasses
  • Princess Crown/Ears – a Disney essential
  • Watch

Toiletries

  • Hair Accessories/Products
  • Contacts/Glasses
  • Contact Solution
  • Body Wash
  • Lotion

  • Nexus Card
  • Addresses – To Send Post Cards
  • Copy Of Car Insurance  – if renting
  • CC/Traveller Cheques/Cash
  • Disney Plan Of Attach Sheet
  • Copy of all reservation documents

And Don’t Forget

  • Phone
  • Phone Charger
  • Extra Memory Card
  • Extra Batteries/Charger
  • Camera – waterproof is always handy if you want to be able to take photos at the water parks or don’t want to worry about getting it wet on rides like Splash Mountain
  • Guide Book
  • E Reader/Book
  • Tablet/Ipad
  • Autograph Book – or step outside of the box and come up with your own idea of what to get signed. I’ve had Princess Barbie’s signed and even pursed with the characters on it
  • Permanent Marker –  I always find it handy to have my own on hand
  • Ipod/Gameboy/Activity Books – To help keep the kidlets happy/distracted in long lines
  • Pen for Autograph Book
  • Suit Case Scale
  • Extra Suitcase To Put Purchases In – I’ve always found it best to have an extra suite case on hand for all of those extras you purchase on the trip. Best way I’ve found is to have a smaller suit case fitted into a larger one or a duffel that can be taken out on the way home . Plus that way you only have to pay the baggage fee once and remember to stay under the 50 pounds!
  •  Purses/Backpack – I always prefer to have a side satchel or cross body bag so my hands are free to grab the camera for pictures and of course eating dole whip
  • Refillable Water Bottle – bottles of water typically cost 2.5$ while filling up is free at a fountain. The other option is to ask for a cup of ice water at a quick service it’s free
  • E Reader Charger
  • Travel Sewing Kit
